Obituary of Alma Elizabeth Stogsdill

Alma Elizabeth Stogsdill A Mass of Christian Burial for Alma Elizabeth Stogsdill of Elsberry, MO was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Father Robert Zinser, church pastor, officiated with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry was handled the arrangements for services. Mrs. Stogsdill, 106, died early Sunday morning, April 16, 2006 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born July 21, 1899 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Wilhelmina Jones Fuchs. She was united in marriage on August 14, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY to William E. Stogsdill. Mr. and Mrs. Stogsdill moved from St. Louis to the Elsberry area in 1981. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Wilhelmina Fuchs; one sister, Bertha Schlottman; her brother, Louis Fuchs, Jr.; her beloved husband of 66 years, William Stogsdill, who died October 7, 1988; and their dear friends, Bill and Mary Kay Thompson. Survivors include her Elsberry Healthcare family; her church family at Sacred Heart Parish in Elsberry; her dear friends: Georgia Ellis of Elsberry, and Teresa Thompson DiGiovanni and her husband, Frank, of Lockport, IL; and many friends. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church in Elsberry until time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Masses in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
