Donald Glenn Kimberly
Funeral services for Donald Glenn "Honey" Kimberly of Winfield, MO were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Foley, MO, officiated with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Edison Martin, Heath Young, Jonathan Franke, Daniel Parsons, Rick Reed and Albert Peine; honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren.
Mr. Kimberly, 66, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at his home near Winfield. Born March 15, 1940 in Winfield, he was the son of William Charles "Buck" and Eleanor Krachey Kimberly. A lifelong resident of the Winfield area, he was a 1958 graduate of Winfield High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from January 10, 1961 until January 27, 1964. He was united in marriage on September 9, 1967 in Foley, MO to Deborah Karlene Franke. This union was blessed with two daughters: Deborah Dhonyale and Amanda Blythe. He was employed for many years as a machinist at General Motors Electromotive plant in St. Louis, and later at the automotive plant in Wentzville, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #2250 in St. Louis, MO.
He was preceded in death by his father, William "Buck" Kimberly; and two brothers: Steven Charles Kimberly and William Patrick Kimberly.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Deborah Kimberly of Winfield; two daughters: Dee Dee Martin and her husband, Ed, of Winfield, and Amby Kimberly also of Winfield; and five grandchildren: Erin Kimberly Turner, Erik Charles Turner, Ean Glenn Turner, Mattheu Kristian Knox and Zachary Jacob Knox, all of Winfield. He also leaves his mother, Eleanor McKinney and her husband, Muril "Mac", of Winfield; three sisters: Sharon Peine and her husband, Albert, of Troy, MO, Lois Altman of Winfield, and Kathy Eggemeyer and her husband, Les, of St. Peters, MO; several in-laws: Claudia and Rick Reed of Troy, Paula and Danny Parsons of Winfield, Paul and Barbara Franke and Nathan and Anne Franke of Elsberry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the St. Joseph's Indian School in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
