Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Geneva Belle Scheltinga Geneva Belle Scheltinga, 91, of Silex, MO (formerly of Overland, MO), died Wednesday afternoon, May 10, 2006 at Silex Community Care Center in Silex, MO. Born June 13, 1914 in Wright City, MO, she was the daughter of Ralph and Cloey Schwartz Tomak. She was a graduate of Wright City High School in Wright City. She was united in marriage on October 30, 1959 in St. Louis, MO to Jack Scheltinga. She worked for many years as a sales clerk for Famous Barr. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. John, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Cloey Tomak; one son, Kenneth Schermer; several brothers and sisters; and her beloved husband of 41 years, Jack Scheltinga who passed away in 2000. Survivors include one son, John "Jackie" Skrivan of Silex, MO; one sister, Jane Smith of Berkley, MO; special friend, Robert Johnson of Overland, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Cremation arrangements were handled by Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO.
