Obituary of Bobbie Ann Shrum

Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Bobbie Ann Shrum Graveside services for Bobbie Ann Shrum of Elsberry, MO, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Asbury Cemetery near Winfield, MO with J. Larry Carter officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Dustin Springmeier, Brian Springmeier, Jamie Rivera, Willie Rivera, Travis Shrum and Greg Stelmachowicz. Mrs. Shrum, 77, died late Wednesday evening, August 23, 2006 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born October 17, 1928 in Monette, AR, she was the daughter of Robert and Violet Swyres Sigler. She was united in marriage on June 26, 1948 in St. Louis to Wilford Melvin Shrum. This union was blessed with four children: Laval, Vonderahe, Lavonne and Jackie. She was employed for several years in the Lincoln County Collector's Office in Troy, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Sigler and Violet West, and her stepfather, Walter D. West; and her beloved husband of 37 years, Wilford Shrum who died July 19, 1985. Survivors include one son, Laval W. Shrum and his wife, Katherine, of Wright City, MO; three daughters: Vonderahe Rivera and her husband, Ron, of Old Monroe, MO, Lavonne Springmeier and her husband, Warren, of Wentzville, MO, and Jackie Buescher and her husband, Tim, of Lake Saint Louis, MO; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Dean West and his wife, Mary, of St. Louis; one sister, Johnnie Cox of Olathe, KS; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
