Obituary of Serena Uyvone Pratt

Funeral Services for Serena Uyvone Pratt of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Floyd Gudde, Minister of the Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Denny Lambert, David Rice, Christopher Pratt, Bill Pratt, Bill Toeniskoetter and Tim Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Tony Buttry. Mrs. Pratt, 86, passed away Thursday morning, August 6, 2020 at the Elsberry Health Care Center. Born August 5, 1934 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of Richard Franklin and Clara Frances Thomas Lilley. Serena was united in marriage on July 18, 1953 in Elsberry to Charles Clifford Pratt. This union was blessed with two children: Marcia G. and Charles F. Serena worked as a clerk for the Humphrey Variety Store and also was a farmer for many years. She also was a long time member and Secretary for the Taylor Terrace Board, for many years. Serena was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Clara Lilley; her son, Charlie Pratt, who died October 15, 2017; and her beloved husband of 66 years, Charles C. Pratt, who died on October 1, 2019. Survivors include their daughter, Marcia Lambert and her husband Dan, of Elsberry; 8 grandchildren: David Rice, Kimber Cordsiemon, Erica Gladney, Nicole Pratt, Sera Rubendall, Bonnie Pratt, Christopher Pratt and Kelly Buttry; and 12 great-grandchildren. Serena also leaves one brother, Burton Lilly of Clarksville, MO; three sisters: Joy Lou Earlie of Annada, MO, Peggy Sue Stone of Clarksville, MO, and Ruth Ann Lilly of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from Noon until time of service, Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
