Obituary of Sandra Jean Sinnett

Sandra Jean (Yockey) Sinnett, 80, of Eolia, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones the morning of November 3, 2020. Born in Little Rock, AR on February 4, 1940, she was the daughter of Floyd Everett and Martha Elizabeth (Doss) Yockey. Sandra graduated from Beaumont High School in St Louis, MO in 1958. She became the Bride of Robert (Cowboy) Sinnett on October 17, 1959, and just recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. Sandra’s dream was always to become a Registered Nurse, but raising her family was her first priority. She obtained her RN from St. Mary’s College in O’Fallon, MO in 1984 and was an ICU nurse at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO for many years. Sandra and Cowboy were the owners of several local businesses over the years: a BBQ stand at Cherokee Lakes, Spaceman’s Galley Game Room in Troy, MO and in 1974 they purchased the Senate Theatre in Elsberry, MO, which she continued to run alongside her husband up to her recent illness. For nearly 46 years you would see Sandra in the ticket booth of the theatre selling tickets to the many customers that showed them great support. She was so proud to be able to provide an authentic and historic place the community could come and enjoy each week. Bob and Sandra were blessed with 3 children: Robert Edward “Bobby” Sinnett, Kimberly Jean Bange (Jeff), and Dawn Elizabeth Stone (Terry), all of rural Eolia, MO. She has 6 grandchildren: Justin Matthew Bange (Jordyn), Brittany Marissa Giesken (Jon), Brandon Mikael Bange (Allie), Nathan Lee Stone, Mikah Jean Bange and Nicholas Melvin Stone; 4 great grandchildren: Hadley Jean Giesken, Owen Robert Reynolds-Bange, Henslie Rae Giesken and Declan Joseph Bange. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Everett and Martha Elizabeth Yockey as well as her older brother Floyd Everett Yockey Jr. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert “Cowboy” Sinnett, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother-in-law Jerry Sinnett of St. Louis MO. A Celebration of Life will be held at the theatre at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Page Branch Park Splash Pad Fund in care of Carter Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
