Obituary of Lindell Lee Riffle, Sr.

Funeral Services for Lindell Lee Riffle, Sr. of Foley, MO, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church in Whiteside, MO and Bro. Greg Pflasterer, of Elsberry First Baptist Church in Elsberry, MO, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Ogden, Dalton Ogden, Layne Ferguson, Bradly Ferguson, Isaac Smith, Dillon Smith and Michael Copeland. Mr. Riffle, Sr., 72, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023, at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy, MO. Born November 7, 1950 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Rodney Thurman and Virginia Lee Harding Riffle. Lindell was united in marriage to Opal Jean Wallace. This union was blessed with seven children: Victoria, Jeanne, Peggy, Lindell, Jr., Rebecca, Rodney and Rose. He worked as a delivery driver for MFA Oil Company until his retirement in 2003 after 33 years of employment. He later drove a dump truck for White Rock Quarry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Virginia Riffle; one brother, Allen Riffle; one sister, Elsie Dunn and her husband, Alfred; and two nephews: Justin and Allie Riffle. Survivors include his children: Victoria Riffle of St. Paul, MO, Jeanne Ogden and her husband, Curtis, of Elsberry, Peggy Smith of Elsberry, Lindell Riffle, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Elsberry, Rebecca Loyd and her husband, Travis, of Elsberry, Rodney Riffle of Foley and Rose Riffle of Elsberry; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lindell also leaves three brothers: Charles Riffle and his wife, Helen, of Clarksville, MO, Phillip Riffle and his wife, Patty, of Elsberry and Kenneth Riffle and his wife, Tina, of Elsberry; two sisters: Rodena (Virginia) Conklin and her husband, Harold, of Drasco, AR and Susan Trower of Troy; numerous niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
