Obituary of Joline Jeanette Mennemeyer

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joline Jeanette Mennemeyer of Old Monroe, MO will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Michael Lampe, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Mennemeyer, Matt Schieffer, Jake Wilmes, Adam Wilmes, Steven Lavy and Tyler Mennemeyer. Joline, 85, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024 at St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake Saint Louis, MO. Born October 31, 1938 at home in Troy, MO, she was the daughter of Joseph Raymond “Tip” and Ruth Ann Martin Schieffer. She was the oldest of eleven children, with seven brothers and three sisters. Joline was a graduate of Troy High School. She worked for several years as a seamstress at the Troy Garment Factory. Joline was united in marriage on August 8, 1964 at Sacred Heart Church in Troy to Roman Hubert Mennemeyer. This union was blessed with three children: Michelle Sue, John Joseph and Robert “Bob” Edward. She worked for many years as the “Lunch Lady” for the Winfield Middle School. Joline loved flowers and over the years had a huge vegetable garden. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading and cross stitch. When the kids were young, she served as a 4-H Leader for ten years, while she and Roman taught many of the project segments. Joline especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, where she served on the Picnic Committee and the Ladies’ Sodality entertainment committee. Joline was preceded in death by her parents, Joe “Tip” and Ruth Schieffer; three brothers: Ray Schieffer and his wife, Cindy, David Schieffer and his wife, Connie, and Larry Schieffer; one sister, Ann Silverberg; one son, Bob Mennemeyer on June 23, 1996; and her beloved husband of 30 years, Roman Mennemeyer, who died on February 16, 1995. Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Wilmes and her husband, Dale, of Troy; one son, John Mennemeyer and his wife, Shirley, of Moscow Mills, MO; seven grandchildren: Michael, Brittany, Christina, Tyler, Ashley, Adam and Jacob; and eight great-grandchildren. Joline also leaves four brothers: Howard Schieffer and his wife, Nancy, of Troy, Leroy Schieffer and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Elsberry, MO, Ellsworth Schieffer and his wife, Gwen, of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Randy Schieffer and his wife, Dinah, of Fort Meyers, FL; three sisters: Tammy Crouch and her husband, Larry, of Troy, Nettie Colbert and her husband, Dennis, of Eolia, MO, and Robin Law and her husband, Owen, of Riverview, FL; one sister-in-law, Becky Schieffer of Elsberry; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
