Obituary of Ona Norris Coddington

Graveside Services for Ona Norris Coddington of Elsberry, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield, MO. Rev. Larry Gallaher, pastor of the Asbury Chapel near Foley, MO will officiate. Ona, 82, passed away Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024 at his home. Born March 9, 1942 in Lucerne, MO, he was the son of Robert Lee and Methewee Arvilla Mullnex Coddington. He served his country in the United States Navy. Ona was united in marriage on August 11, 2001 in Hannibal, MO to Roselee Cox. He worked as an aircraft re-fueler for Allied Fueling, and later drove a concrete truck for Davis Concrete. Ona was a member of VFW Post #9064 in Elsberry. He was quite the character and didn’t know a stranger. Ona was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Methewee Coddington; one sister, Bobbi Dell Busby; and his beloved wife of 19 years, Roselee Coddington, who died on January 2, 2021. Survivors include two children: James Coddington and his significant other, Christina Ross, and Pamela Johnson, all of Elsberry; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
