Obituary of Gladys Veronica Wehde

Gladys Veronica Wehde A Mass of Christian Burial for Gladys Veronica Wehde of Troy, MO, formerly of Old Monroe, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Jarred Wehde, Joshua Wehde, Michael Wehde, Wayne Wehde, Aaron Day and Richard Herman. Mrs. Wehde, 89, passed away early Saturday morning, July 10, 2010 at Troy Manor in Troy. Born March 5, 1921 in Flint Hill, MO, she was the daughter of Leo C. and Odelia C. Clausner Sachs. She was united in marriage on September 7, 1957 in Old Monroe to Ralph B. Wehde. Their home was blessed with five children: Ralph Henry, Robert Clarence, Gary Lee, Judy Ann and Arthur Neil. Mr. & Mrs. Wehde owned and operated Wehde's Tavern in Old Monroe for several years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church near Old Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Odelia Sachs; one son, Ralph Henry Wehde, Jr. in 1995; one daughter, Judy Ann Day in 2005; one brother, Arthur Sachs; and her beloved husband of almost 24 years, Ralph Wehde, who died July 15, 1981. Survivors include three sons and their wives: Robert and Freida Wehde of Winfield, MO, Gary and Mary Wehde of St. Paul, MO, and Neil and Robyn Wehde of Elsberry; one son-in-law, James Day of Winfield; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers: Donald Sachs of Wright City, MO, and Wallace H. Sachs of St. Paul, MO; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
