Obituary of Rick Reed

Rick Reed Funeral services for Rick Reed of Troy, MO were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Len Hedgepeth, pastor of the Rivers Edge Church in Troy, officiated with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Heath Reed, Josh Reed, Nick Erbe, Andrew Erbe, Danny Parsons and Johnathan Franke. Mr. Reed, 53, died Tuesday evening, July 18, 2006 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy. Born June 19, 1953 in Malden, MO, he was the son of Jack and Doris Riddle Fluesmeier. He was a 1971 graduate of St. Charles High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 until 1976. He was united in marriage on January 13, 1978 in Clayton, MO to Claudia Paulette Franke. Their home was blessed with four children: Anngela, Heath, Joshua and Aimee. He was employed as an insurance agent for GMAC in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Troy, and the Rivers Edge Church also in Troy. Survivors include his beloved wife of 28 years, Claudia Reed of Troy; two sons: Joshua Reed and his wife, Laura, of St. Charles, MO, and Heath Young and his wife, Rebecca, of Elsberry, MO; two daughters: Anngela Erbe and her husband, Nick, of Troy, and Aimee Joyce and her husband, Marty, of Tuscan, AZ; and eight grandchildren: Ashley, Andrew and Leslie Erbe, Elizabeth and Baylei Young, Spencer and Skyler Joyce, and Dakota Reed. He also leaves his parents, Jack and Doris Fluesmeier of St. Charles, his parents-in-law, Paul and Barbara Franke of Winfield; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
