Obituary of Eugene Curtis Hinshaw

Eugene Curtis Hinshaw, Jr. Funeral services for Eugene Curtis Hinshaw, Jr. of Foley, MO were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield, MO, officiated the service with burial at Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers were Eric Hinshaw, Karon, Lashaw, Ron Lashaw, Morgan Lashaw, Blake Lashaw, and Jesse Ray. Mr. Hinshaw, 74, died Thursday morning, May 17, 2007 at his home in Foley, MO. Born July 20, 1932 in Tallapoosa, GA, he was the son of Eugene Curtis and Floyde Doris Brown Hinshaw, Sr. He was a 1951 high school graduate in Randleman, NC. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy from June 26, 1951 until he was honorably discharged June 21, 1955. In 1959, he graduated from Georgia Tech University within three years, earning an engineering degree. He was united in marriage on May 17, 1977 in St. Charles, MO to Susan Marye Ross. He was employed for 30 years as an electronic engineer for Boeing, Inc. in St. Louis, MO, retiring in 1997. Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Susan Hinshaw of Foley, MO; one son, Eric Hinshaw of Beardstown, NC; one daughter, Karon Lashaw and her husband, Ron, of Sweponville, NC; four grandchildren: Morgan Lashaw, Blake Lashaw, Matthew Lashaw, and Maria Ray and her husband, Jesse, all of Sweponville, NC; one great grandchild, Makaylah Ray; several in-laws, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
